Dave: Can I take your pics of Lowrey and Shaft and band and clean them up a little and put the frames around them and just add them to the collection? Wanted to get your permission first! Gregg

This must have been taken around the time Sexton opened in 1945. This is from the 61 Oracle

Mike Sexton, who was his grandson, I think, was in the class of 63 with me.

Profile Information

What Year Did You Graduate From Sexton?
1966
Relationship Status:
Engaged
About Me:
Living with my girfriend Christa. We both just retired and are beginning to really enjoy our quality time together. After my years at Sexton where I played 1st chair Clarinet and was Concert Master for Corbitt as well as 2nd/SS for Coach Campbell's Varsity Baseball, I obtained my Business degree from Ferris State and my Masters & Ph.D. both in Oceanic Marine Biology from the University of British Columbia.

Involved with Oceanic Field Research worldwide and talked at public venues including the Sea World facilities in Florida, Texas and California, Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Monterey Bay Aquarium in California, New England Aquarium, New Jersey State Aquarium, National Aquarium in Baltimore,Vancover Public Aquarium and Australia's Taronga Zoo. Over the years, I had personal associations with the late Jacques-Yves Cousteau and the late Steve Irwin as well as many other noted biologists combined with several spot appearances on Discovery, Nova and Animal Planet.

Was a Land Acquisition Agent for American Natural Gas Corporation in Detroit prior to my entrance into the Oceanic Marine Biology field.

In 1992, I was fortunate to break the National Managerial Career Victories Record in Slow-Pitch Softball for the combined ASA/USSSA Softball organizations. The established record which still stands today upon my retirement from softball in 1993, is 1,596 Managerial Career Victories.
What Are You Doing Now?
Retired after 19-years of presenting my outreach K-12 educational science program "OCEAN TREASURES" and extensive oceanic field research worldwide.

Now doing lawnwork (just turned Christa loose on upgrading the exterior of our house totally. Figured we can't take it with us and the house remodel is something that she has wanted to do for many years), playing golf and keeping my hands involved with the field of Oceanic Marine Biology as a Consultant with several ongoing field research projects involving Great White Sharks, Sea Jellies and Killer Whales.

Just finalized a vacation trip to Ohau next April! First time either of us have been to the Hawaiian Islands and we are looking forward to the trip especially after another Michiana winter season.
